MetroKit Mobile & Desktop

MetroKit Mobile & Desktop

MetroKit is useful for the novice musicians to get started practicing, offering a simple interface, up to the professional, as it includes a lot of customizable training features.
This Simple interface let you change any basic parameter i.e. BMP, Time Signature and how many bars to play. Also using the Beat Editor (accessed by clicking on the “Accents”), a simple 4/4 can be edited to quite complex rhythms.
Beat Editor

Beat Editor

Each beat can be divided to up to 9 sub beats, independently.
Here is show a 6/8 Time Signature where each beat is divided to various sub-beats, with diferrent dynamic on each subbeat.

Each sub-beat can be toggled through 4 states:
  • Downbeat – Bright Square, only on the 1st sub-beat of the 1st beat
  • Accented – Bigger & Brighter dot
  • Basic – Smaller & duller dot
  • Mute – Smaller & empty (dark) dot.

The combination of custom sub divisions and beat accents can create very complex and difficult rhythms.
MetroKit Trainer

MetroKit Trainer

MetroKit 2 includes training tools for both Speed and Rhythm.
Both trainers are toggled on and off by the and buttons respectively.
To use the speed trainer, set a starting and target tempo. The target tempo can be set lower than the starting if someone wants.
Next, set how much the tempo will adjust (increase or decrease) every how many bars. The button toggles a continue state. When enabled MetroKit will stop when it reaches the target tempo, else MetroKit will continue to play on the target tempo if one wants to increase their playing stamina.
The rhythm trainer makes MetroKit audible for a number of bars and then mute it for a different number of bars, both specified buy the user, and then loops over that.
This method forces the musician to be more stable when keeping rhythm as when MetroKit starts playing again, they should be on beat.
Both trainers can be used together for more difficult practice.
The sub divisions and time signature can be used normally as in the Simple mode.
MetroKit Track Mode

MetroKit Track Mode

MetroKit 2 introduces a new feature that can elevate your practice like nothing else!

Track mode allows one to create sessions that play in sequence and can also loop by enabling the button.
As show in the picture, the track consists of 5 sessions:
  • 1 – A speed training session that starts at 120 BPM on a 4/4 time signature for 16 bars
  • 2 – Here MetroKit does an Speed training section that increases the tempo by 5, every 4 bars, starting at 120BPM to 145BPM
    This will last 25 bars.
  • 3 – Another simple section, that keeps the tempo at 145, with a 4/4 ti,e signature for another 32 bars
Note that this track’s view has been toggled from the “eye” button and shows the 4/4 8ths triplets beat pattern set.
  • 4 – Another Speed training section that increases the tempo to 175BPM by 5BPM on every bar, lasting 6 bars
  • 5 – A rhythm training section that keeps a 175BPM tempo for 64 bars, but mutes MetroKit for 1 bar, every 3 bars.

Using the Track mode one can create very complex and extreme practicing routines or make metronome tracks for complex progressive songs that use lots of time signatures and accent patterns.
